I thought I’d share some numbers with you guys. I know you all probably hate math, but you might find these numbers interesting.
Throughout the season, 7,994 people visited this site and looked at your photos. (That is the number as of 2 p.m. Dec. 8, and I’m thinking that as you read this, that number will have surpassed 8,000.) During the season, I took more than 5,500 photos, and I posted 523 of them on the site.
On one day this season, the blog got more hits than any other (by far) with 420 visitors that one day. What day was that? That would be Monday, Oct. 22. For those of you who do not remember the significance of that date, that was the Monday schools were closed due to wildfires raging in Santa Clarita. Apparently most of you (the ones who were not evacuated) spent that day surfing the Internet. The day with the second highest number of hits during the season, with 320, was—some of you might have guessed this one—Tuesday, Oct. 23. That’s right, the second day schools were closed due to the fires. I’m happy that I could keep you entertained during that traumatic time.
But JV Cowboy team members and their families were not the only ones to visit our little blog this season. Our competitors have also discovered the site, and just today visitors found their way to the Cowboy JV Football Team blog by entering the following words on their search engines: “crespi football;” “saugus football 2007;” “West Ranch;” and “notre dame.” One person got here by searching for “JV Football.” I don’t know what he was looking for, but I hope he enjoyed the pictures of our team.
I would like to thank the Canyon JV Football Team for being such fascinating subjects throughout the season. I could never have taken such great photos if you guys had not made such great plays. Meanwhile, this site isn’t going anywhere. The photos will be available for your downloading pleasure until next summer, when I will change the name of the site to the “Cowboy Varsity Football Team” and we will do this all over again.
Until then,
Sharon
